Launch the Avast application by clicking on the icon in your system tray. For example, if Avast is preventing you from opening a file, you need to disable File Shield, and if you want to access a website blocked by Avast, you need to turn off Web Shield. Now, you can disable the Avast shield as per your requirements. Also, disabling one or two shields does not risk the entire system. Via Avast SettingsĪvast gives you an option to disable individual shields so that other system protection is not hampered. If you are unsure about the duration, we recommend disabling the shields permanently and enabling them when you want.Ī pop-up would ask for confirmation – click on OK, STOP to confirm the disable request. When you select the time, all the shields will be disabled for that duration.
Turn off Avast shields control to disable antivirus There is an option to disable it for 10 minutes, 1 hour, until the computer restarts and permanently. You have to select the time for which you want to turn off Avast antivirus shields.
